One LCD screen and a couple of battens and brackets

extract one c.2006 medium-weight PC motherboard from its case
chop out the motherboard mounting surface from the case

mark out and drill new mounting holed (for fixing to the back of the screen)

mount motherboard, drive cage and graphics card

mount screen controls and PC LEDs

hook up power, keyboard and mouse

flip rightside up, replace glass power on et. voila, enjoy the lovely aquarium!

And there we have a working computerised table, now ready for finishing and then the loading of various emulators and proper old-school arcade games or wallpapers, photos, videos or whatever.

Next I’ll investigate some suitably retro controller setup – joysticks, mashing buttons, who knows.

I’ll confess now though that the table was bought specifically for this project because it was second hand, had a nice sense of openness and was about the right size.
